- Bonding: To reshape teeth with chips, wide spacing, or malformations, cosmetic dental bonding uses shade-matched composite resin–the same material we use for white dental fillings. Bonding can also be a short-term alternative to porcelain veneers; it lasts, on average, five to seven years. Once you have bonding, it will need to be replaced when it begins to wear down or stains appear in the seams. Bonding can be replaced with veneers, crowns, or composite resin.
- Contouring: In some cases, bonding isn’t necessary. Smoothing rough edges by contouring the enamel can make flaws virtually disappear. We often contour “vampire” teeth, which are predominant canines with a sharp edge. All in all, contouring softens teeth edges to create a more attractive smile.
- Laser Gum Contouring: Teeth that appear small or stubby can be elongated by revealing more tooth structure with laser gum contouring. With a soft-tissue dental laser, Dr. Bilello precisely reshapes gum tissue. The laser seals soft tissues as it trims away the excess, so no stitches are required. Healing is fast, compared to traditional gum surgery, and the results are nothing short of spectacular!
- Porcelain Veneers: Handcrafted with layers of exquisite dental porcelain, veneers resurface front teeth to deliver a more perfect and attractive smile. Each veneer is uniquely designed, so the color, texture, and shape will suit your smile without making it look cookie-cutter or fake. Veneers can last 20 years or more with good dental hygiene and the absence of injury, so they’re a great investment.
- Teeth Whitening: As the single-most popular cosmetic dental treatment worldwide, professional teeth whitening can lighten teeth by six, eight, or even 10 shades. Dr. Bilello has studied the various brands and types of whitening so that we can bring our patients the best options. We use Opalescence whitening trays with a potent, safe gel. Wear the trays as directed, from one hour to overnight, and in about two weeks, your enamel will be significantly brighter.
