- Digital X-rays: These radiographs require only 10% of the radiation that traditional X-rays require. They also provide us with detailed, precise images of teeth, teeth roots, and the jaw, right in the operatory on a chairside monitor.
- Laser Dentistry: Dr. Bilello uses a soft tissue laser for precise and fast gum reshaping. Because no sutures are necessary, healing after laser gum surgery is simple compared to recovering from scalpel-cut gum procedures.
- E4D Same-Day Restorations: Whether you need a crown, inlay, or onlay, our E4D can mill a custom porcelain restoration in about an hour. Our patients can receive a permanent restoration in one visit!
Patient Comfort
We want you to be comfortable during dental procedures, regardless of your tolerance for discomfort. Patients who struggle with dental phobia or anxiety feel more confident and relaxed under the effects of laughing gas, oral sedation, or conscious sedation. We always monitor vital signs and comfort levels when administering laughing gas, oral sedation, and conscious sedation.
Anesthesia and Sedation Options:
- Gentle Local Anesthetic Injections: These are the little injections that numb the gums and teeth around the injection site.
- Laughing Gas (Nitrous Oxide): Laughing gas is delivered through a nose mask and adjusted to the needs of the particular patient being treated. The gas makes a patient feel giddy and sleepy, so he won’t recognize pain sensations or discomfort. Laughing gas effects wear off within a few minutes of stopping delivery, so the patient can resume normal daily activities, including driving.
- Oral Sedation: With a small pill, oral sedation makes a patient less aware of his surroundings, while causing drowsiness and calmness. The patient won’t recognize pain or discomfort and may not recall the procedure the next day. Sensations of tingling or warmth are normal. The patient must have a ride home and should not work or drive until the following day, to allow the sedative effect to subside.
- Conscious Sedation (Oral + Nitrous Oxide): Conscious sedation is the deepest level of sedation we offer. By taking a prescribed sedative pill and inhaling laughing gas before and during the procedure, a patient will experience deep relaxation (but not be “put to sleep”). You’ll be able to respond to the dentist’s instructions and questions, but you won’t recognize pain sensations. As with oral sedation, patients who opt for conscious sedation may have no memory of the appointment. A ride home is essential, and the patient should rest for the remainder of the day. A normal routine can begin the next day.
